Was Robert torn between to important women in his life?
Robert Scorpio of General Hospital and Anna Devane both knew Victor Cassadine was behind it from the minute Lucy Coe was shot and it became evident that Anna Devane was being set up. Why can’t Robert use some of his superspy and lawyerly investigative skills to bring Anna home now that he understands exactly how Victor pulled it off?
General Hospital: Holly Told Robert Scorpio Everything
Now that Lucy (Lynn Herring) is confirmed to be alive and well, Robert (Tristan Rogers) is aware that Holly (Emma Samms), wearing an Anna mask, shot Anna’s (Finola Hughes) gun. In reality, only one bullet actually missed Lucy; the other was rubber and didn’t actually hurt her. Although it is clear that Robert wanted to free Holly from Victor’s (Charles Shaughnessy) control so she could locate her stolen son, why was there never any discussion of utilizing Holly’s confession to track down a runaway Anna?
Instead, Robert’s first action was to devise a complex scheme to make Victor believe Holly was still carrying out his dirty deeds by obtaining the Ice Princess necklace so that he and Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) could start a fire, outfit Holly with flame-resistant clothing, and send her off while the world believed she was in a burn unit halfway across the world. Felicia herself didn’t appear to be considering her best friend Anna at all.
GH: Why Does Anna Come Second?
Why couldn’t Robert try to help Anna at the same time that he was trying to help Holly? Why couldn’t someone with that much WSB experience put his knowledge to use and concentrate on two related tasks at once? Yes, what Holly told him might be viewed as hearsay, but he seems to have ignored the fact that she gave him some significant leads to pursue while Anna is still in danger.
We can assume Robert also told Felicia what happened to Lucy when he explained to her why they needed to help Holly, but Felicia didn’t seem to care either. Instead, they put a stop to everything, got Holly out of town, and left Anna on the run for far longer than was necessary. Additionally, now that they are certain that Lucy is still alive, they don’t seem to be looking for her.
Yes, the pacing on General Hospital can seem off and the stories can go on hiatus for days or weeks, but Robert’s failure to attempt to rescue Anna from the situation she is in right away was wholly out of character, and we hope it can be fixed soon.
