A lot has been said by Vanessa Marcil regarding the GH favourite.
While Sonny Corinthos has since begun dating Nina, many fans still recall his passionate love with Brenda Barrett. Brenda Barrett’s actor, Vanessa Marcil, recently spoke about this unique relationship as well as many other topics.
Vanessa Marcil Talks Maurice Benard
The popular celebrity participated in a live discussion with followers through Coastal Entertainment when the topic of what fans would be shocked to learn about Maurice Benard came up. Marcil undoubtedly gained some understanding from having portrayed Brenda to his Sonny, as well as from their lengthy relationship.
Marcil said, “So clearly, I think that he started to display this more recently, [but] I think that people never truly understood how hilarious he was for a long time, right.” He was always very serious and, because he is such a method actor, kind of tormented, but he was always wonderfully amusing. He’s now starting to embrace his sense of humour, and I believe his followers like seeing how different his on-screen personas are from their real-life selves.
She chuckled, “But another really weird thing about Mo is that he’s never ever had his own phone or his own cars, he doesn’t — he’s sort of like royalty. He is only beginning to venture into that field; he does not drive, email, or use the phone. You can text Maurice Bernard right now, too. Yet, Marcil had more to say about her former co-star.
He’s also quite emotional, so when [Marcil’s partner M.C.] and I recently attended his daughter’s wedding, there were a couple instances in which he pulled M.C. away and gave him an overly lengthy embrace. He starts out by saying, “I really love…truly like you for Vanessa,” and then he pulls me away a couple times and says these extremely heartfelt things to me. Nonetheless, I’ll let you all know the most crucial information so that you may spread the news to all of your other fan networks. The more Mo loves me,” she grinned.
After reading that, someone in the conversation suggested that she might want to go back to General Hospital. Will that occur?
“Oh God, well, you know, it’s inevitable that I’ll do it at some point. Knowing full well that I detest even bringing up the subject, I won’t, but it will ultimately happen. I’ll always respect my roots because, you know, if they hadn’t even given me a chance there, I wouldn’t have a profession and we wouldn’t have the lovely life we do. Yet, I just just adore that character so much. She is such a complex, amazing figure who, in my opinion, was much ahead of her time.
And the fact that Maurice is constantly present, you know, makes it obvious because I couldn’t return to work opposite a recast Sonny or any of these insane things that occurred to other characters.
