The outspoken GH alum would not allow the sitcom star’s words go unanswered.
Unless you have been avoiding social media, you have probably seen something about Fuller House star Candace Cameron Bure having left Hallmark for GAC because they will reportedly only show “traditional” relationships. General Hospital alum Vanessa Marcil certainly saw it, and she put the sitcom star on blast.
Vanessa Marcil Claps Back
Marcil, who gained a devoted following while playing Brenda Barrett in Port Charles, also has an openly gay son who she adores and fully supports. She responded to Bure’s comments on Instagram. “It is our responsibility as mothers and as women to safeguard our children. each of our kids. not just the wealthy members of our family.
She continued, “Speaking from a platform to stand for hate and exclusion of kids, who have the highest suicide rates, while covering it with some bullshit about bravery, religion, and these commercialized holidays? Make that money, but it seems like it will never be enough.
“We can assume the ‘Lord’ is documenting our support for hate in order to increase our popularity in these circles where our bread is buttered, and she is not going to be pleased with us on ‘judgement day,'” the speaker said. If there is a heaven, if we stand for hate and division and if we don’t stand up for our most vulnerable, we won’t be receiving the good room there.
Vanessa Marcil is no stranger to advocating for kids. It makes sense that she would utilize her voice and platform in the same way as Bure does because she has consistently supported her son and advocated for the LGBTQIA+ community during her decades in the public eye. However, she should do it in a loving, supporting, and gentle manner.
