She then had appearances in several well-known Canadian television shows, such as Doc, Earth: Final Conflict, Odyssey 5, and Mutant X. Williamson starred in the comedy movie National Lampoon’s Adam & Eve in 2002, and a year later she joined the cast of the daytime soap One Life to Live, which is based in New York.
On February 5, 2003, her first episode of OLTL aired, and she took on the role of Jessica Buchanan, a part that had been played for 12 years by actress Erin Torpey. Williamson received recognition for a plot thread she developed while at OLTL in which Jessica split into several personas and child molestation was explored.
Williamson was nominated for three Daytime Emmy Awards in a row for Outstanding Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Jessica. She remained with the show till January 13, 2012, when the final episode aired.
Williamson is also well-known for his roles in a variety of well-liked primetime shows, such as Chicago Fire, CSI, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Gossip Girl, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. She appeared on Sci Fi’s Haven on a regular basis, and the NBC serial Deception featured her as the main character.
Williamson took a role on ABC’s General Hospital in the summer of 2016, and her first episode as Claudette Beaulieu aired on July 5 of that same year. She kept making recurrent appearances till October 27, 2017.
Williamson is the proud mother of McGreggor Edward, a son she has with her second husband Michael Roberts outside of her acting career. She also supports breast cancer awareness and is an advocate for Planned Parenthood.
