Maura West played Ava Jerome Cassadine to the hilt after Nikolas delivered shocking news.

When we thought Ava Jerome Cassadine’s response to her husband Nikolas Cassadine’s extramarital rendezvous with Esme Prince couldn’t get any better, actress Maura West revealed that Nik is the father of Elizabeth Webber Baldwin’s child. Although Nik didn’t actually sleep with her and Liz isn’t actually pregnant, West’s all-too-real performance has won her the title of Performer of the Week for GH.

Ava (Maura West) pressed Liz about how and when their relationship began. Did she manage to trap you in her bottomless pit of need, which so many fools are powerless to withstand? What did Elizabeth provide for you that you didn’t receive from me? Ava may blame Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl), a cunning youngster, for trapping Nik, but what about him seeing an old flame and becoming pregnant with her? Ava was deeply wounded by that.

She used the blade to attach the legal documents to the gallery wall instead of impaling him.

Nik grimly reminded his wife that she had the potential to murder him. She gave him a frigid, “Remember that,” before allowing him to leave and be with Elizabeth. “Be a father. Good luck with your second chance. Nikolas expressed his hatred for what was taking place, to which Ava responded, “You don’t understand what hatred is. I might try to teach you. Nikolas, may God have mercy on you. You won’t receive any from me.

What we get from Maura West is one show-stopping performance after another as she keeps elevating Ava Jerome Cassadine to one of television’s most intriguing characters, as seen in the scenes with Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) the next day.
