On General Hospital, Lynn Herring gave Lucy Coe a hybrid appearance.
We adore Lucy Coe, portrayed by Lynn Herring on General Hospital, for many reasons, including carrying Serena for Scotty and Dominique, her propensity for mischief, and her passion of ducks. But what has really won us over to her is her steadfast support of the Nurses Ball, GH’s annual performance show and benefit for AIDS/HIV awareness. Herring has a cause to play all the important emotions despite Lucy’s irritability due to her dedication to assisting others.
Lynn Herring – Performer of the Week
Currently concealing out so Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) won’t find out she is still living, Lucy is beyond angry that she is unable to return to Port Charles in time for the annual Nurses Ball. Anna and Valentin listened to Lucy’s argument. (James Patrick Stuart). Since the 1990s, I have served as the Nurses Ball’s lady of ceremonies, Lucy insisted vehemently. “I must be present to preside over all groups and organize everything with Marty and my pals! Instead, I’m confined to this room with the two of you! This is completely incomprehensible.
Anna admired Lucy’s position as the Nurses Ball both draws everyone together and means a great deal to her daughter Robin (Kimberly McCullough). But she warned Valentin not to misunderstand this situation; the super agent acknowledged that Lucy could be a hassle. Even Lucy’s fiercest detractors cannot dispute her commitment to the yearly charitable event, though. For Lucy, the Nurses Ball serves a greater purpose than just being a performance display.
After leaving, Lucy came back into the living room to argue with Anna and Valentin more quietly but no less vehemently. I just need the Nurses Ball to be something unique, Lucy said. Anna acknowledged that it was challenging to watch as the outside world went about its business, but it is what they must do. It didn’t take Lucy long to become enraged, which led Anna (the consistently excellent Finola Hughes) to sternly tell Lucy that if she had initially listened to her, they wouldn’t be in this predicament.
Later on in the week, Lucy (Genie Francis) was delighted to see her and was expecting the mayor would have some positive news to share. Lucy was requested to wait by Laura, who did hand her a letter from Martin (Michael E. Knight). You know me, I’m not the most tolerant person,” Lucy said. Laura tried to pacify the hesitant hermit by informing her that this year’s Nurses Ball would be broadcast on television. Lucy insisted, “I don’t want to attend the Nurses Ball. The Nurses Ball is who I am.
Herring’s ability to make Lucy happy is one of the many reasons she is so amusing. She was going to enjoy Martin’s message rather than just skim it. In order to read the message in peace and comfort, she went off to operate a hot tub. That’s not all, though. Lucy Coe, after all, is involved.
Veteran GH viewers will remember that Lucy was initially presented as a mousy librarian, but she later abandoned that image to expose a version of herself that was anything but modest. Since GH excels at Friday tags, it was not entirely unexpected to see Victor hanging out at the bar and Lucy exiting the Metro Court lift looking more like that restrained librarian. Lynn Herring deserves praise for creating Lucy so engaging.
