General Hospital might have thought it had the perfect pair in mind when it decided to kill off Franco Baldwin for no apparent reason and put his widow, Elizabeth Webber, into a new relationship with Hamilton Finn before we could blink. The show could not have been more wrong.
General Hospital Spoilers – No Chemistry Was Only Part Of The Problem
Fans were still grieving over Franco’s (Roger Howarth) passing when it first became clear that Liz and Finn were going to be the next ‘it’ pair, but we were open to giving it a shot. But it was clear quite early that Rebecca Herbst and Michael Easton did not get along.
Finn unintentionally knocked Peter August (Wes Ramsey) down the stairs, which brought them together. Being the doctors that they are, they pronounced him dead when he wasn’t, then believed they had the body hidden for months in the freezer, but Peter had escaped. That was most definitely not the foundation for a romance, but that’s what we got, and thank goodness GH moved slowly.
GH Spoilers – 2022 Brought Us Quite A GH Mess
We never even saw Finn and Liz go on a date because their relationship developed so slowly, but all of a sudden Finn fell head over heels for Liz and became fixated on everything she did. He moved into her home, took over her life, and dictated who could and couldn’t see her when she appeared to have a stalker. clearly for her protection.
Then, for months on end, all we heard was about Finn’s man anguish since he was having no luck with Elizabeth. Even after committing herself to Shadybrook for mental health treatment, she requested him to keep away but he didn’t heed her request. He was there, pressuring her to see him even though she didn’t really want to. Finn didn’t care that she was released and was obviously still not okay as he tried his best to woo her into spending the night with him.
Now that they are no longer together, GH appears to want us to experience Finn’s suffering, but all we are able to feel is satisfaction that the soap seems to have realized its error and will no longer torture us to this non-couple together.
