While rumors were all over the Internet for a couple of weeks that Marcus Coloma would be leaving General Hospital, it became official on Monday. Now the actor and good buddy Maurice Benard are speaking out on that exit.
Marcus Coloma and Maurice Benard Speak Out
Benard wrote on his own Twitter account, “I’ve seen many close friends leave General Hospital. Of course, it’s always depressing and perplexing, but I really think that talent is always a blessing in disguise, which is why I always refer to [Marcus Coloma] as the filmmaker! Move that ass, buddy. The two recently engaged in a thoughtful discussion on Benard’s State Of Mind video podcast series.
Additionally, Coloma addressed his departure in a video posted to his official Instagram, saying, “An ABC rep confirmed…that Marcus Coloma will no longer be performing the role of Nikolas Cassadine. It’s challenging to even say. I become so depressed that I avoid thinking about it.
I’m not sure what I can or cannot say other than what an amazing ride it was, he said. The fans are the best fans in the entire world, and I believe a lot of it is just because you guys have been watching for such a long time, as I’ve mentioned a million times. “There’s such a family feel at General Hospital, which I felt really privileged to be a part of,” the actor remarked. I appreciate you thinking of me.
