GH Comings And Goings: Why Robin Matsson Did Not Return As Heather Webber

Since Heather Webber reappeared on our screens but wasn’t portrayed by Robin Mattson, viewers of General Hospital (GH) have been curious about the mystery behind her return.

Every time GH fans have thought about Heather Webber since the 1980s, they have seen the face of veteran soap actor Robin Mattson. Mattson has made appearances on numerous soap operas over the years, most notably as Janet Dillon on All My Children and Gina Capwell on Santa Barbara.

When Heather abducted Danny Morgan as a newborn in 2012, Jason Morgan saved Danny and returned the child to Sam McCall. This was the last significant storyline she had on General Hospital.

Before being taken back to the asylum, Heather tormented a few people, entertained the crowd, scared the hell out of Cameron Webber (William Lipton), and enjoyed her BLT and fries from Kelly’s. However, we do anticipate seeing Heather again. Where, though, was Mattson? It’s fortunate that she had some responses, I suppose.

GH Spoilers: Robin Mattson Was Absent Due to Health Issues

Mattson decided to address the issue and give an explanation for why she wasn’t able to make it back to the GH set to reprise her role as Heather. It appears that she has been listening to all of her old soap fans and what they have to say about the recast.

I simply want to let you know that I’ve been healing from my knee surgery and today I’m going to have hip replacement surgery, as great as it is to be missed and so many of you have wondered what happened to me,” Mattson wrote on her Instagram page. “I appreciate your love and support, everyone. wishing you a speedy recovery! I adore Robin

According to rumors, Mattson has essentially given up acting and now resides in Florida. We wish her the best of luck with her procedures and recovery and continue to hold out hope that we will once more see her on our soap opera screens.
