Soap Hub wishes Réal Andrews a very happy birthday!
Although Réal Andrews, the actor who created the part, has something to celebrate – a very momentous milestone — Marcus Taggert, the character’s father on General Hospital, has been concerned about his daughter since The Hook has gone pursuing others who are closer to her.

Andrews made the decision to work in acting instead. He began his career as a stuntman before landing a few tiny speaking roles in movies like Wild Thing (1987), Nowhere to Hide (1987), and Last Man Standing (1988), as well as episodes of primetime shows like 21 Jump Street (1987), China Beach (1988), Night Heat (1985-1988), and Street Legal (1988). (1989).
Andrews secured a part in the NBC daytime programme Santa Barbara in 1992. Three years later, he had an appearance on Days of our Lives as a police officer opposite Hope Williams Brady, played by Kristian Alfonso.
In 1996, Andrews became a member of the General Hospital cast, playing Marcus Taggert, the newest PCPD employee. Before departing to play in the primetime series Soldier of Fortune, INC, he worked at the serial opera for just four months. Andrews returned to GH after that show was terminated, replacing actor Matthew St. Patrick in the process.
Andrews’ second run lasted until 2003, after which he went on to As the World Turns, where he portrayed Walker Daniels (2003–2004), Agent Trumbull (2011–present), and DAYS (ex-Hal Michaels; 2016 and 2017).
The Clinic (1995), Law and Order (2006), Renegade (1994), Step by Step (1994), and many made-for-TV movies are among Andrews’ other television roles. He made many appearances as Dr. Keith Campbell on The Bay between 2010 and 2018.
Since November 4, 2000, Andrews and Michele Viscasso have been wed. Marcus, Nathan, and Danika are the three children that the couple has together. It is unknown if their first child was named after Andrews’ GH persona or if his persona was named after his son. The only thing Andrews is certain of is that Taggert’s long-kept Christian name was finally revealed around the time of his son’s birth.
