Somehow, it worked.
Kin Shriner’s confusion about General Hospital’s decision to have Scott propose to Liesl last year under the most bizarre circumstances had him scratching his head. For Soap Opera Digest, he remarked, “I thought, ‘What fool would propose to his new partner in front of five women?'” And “three of them are his exes” on that historic 15,000th episode of the daytime soap!
It took director Phideaux Xavier to explain to Laura, Bobbie, and Lucy why the situation in front of them was more of a “What a hoot!” than a “Whaaaat?” “If he proposes to her in front of all his exes, it will be hilarious,” he said to the General Hospital legend. Shriner, a team player, responded, “All right. I made a fool of myself.”
The MVP wasn’t sorry he had done it in the end, either. Shriner told the magazine, “I was thrilled with it because I was able to alter it to make it work. And people appeared to appreciate it, which is always what you hope for.
Even Liesl appeared to love it, despite the fact that she rejected Scotty. She may place the lieder in his hosen, but since she was already his, she didn’t need a ring to signify their commitment. (Actually, as rejections go, rather lovely.)
We can only hope that Liesl will ultimately walk down the aisle toward her ideal partner, but in the meantime, you may say “I do” by checking out our collection of the most memorable weddings from soap operas. Everything you could possibly desire is there, with the possible exception of an open bar and the chicken dance.
