It’s always a good day when Scott Baldwin makes an appearance on General Hospital and the always-welcome Kin Shriner is celebrating a major milestone.

That’s because this amazing performer, who was born in New York City on December 6, 1953, is celebrating his 69th birthday today! Shriner worked as a door-to-door salesman for the Fuller Brush company before to getting his first on-camera appearance.
The Six Million Dollar Man episode where he played the character “Friend” was his debut acting role. Soon after, he appeared in guest roles on Baa Baa Black Sheep and Eight Is Enough. Shriner made his television debut as Scotty Baldwin on ABC’s General Hospital on August 2, 1977.
Shriner worked at General Hospital until 1980, at which point he left and joined the cast of NBC’s Texas. He portrayed Jeb Hampton there. He triumphantly returned to GH in 1981 and remained there through 1983. Between 1987 through 1993, he returned for a second time, and in the 1997 spinoff series Port Charles, he co-starred with fellow GH stars Lynn Herring and Jon Lindstrom.
He joined the mother series once more in 2000, playing the lead role till 2004. He made a brief second appearance in 2007 and has continued to appear regularly since 2013. Shriner appeared in numerous other daytime and evening shows during his periodic absences from the medical soap.
He appeared on Rituals, The Bold and the Beautiful (starring Dr. Brain Carey), The Young and the Restless (starring Harrison Bartlett and Jeffrey Bardwell), and As the World Turns during the afternoon (Keith Morrissey).
He made guest appearances on Baywatch Nights, Melrose Place, The Love Boat, Full House, Monsters, and Full House in primetime. He “played” Oliver Queen, a.k.a. Green Arrow, on the DC animated series Justice League from 2003 to 2006.
