General Hospital spoilers reveal Carly continuing to keep one whopper of a secret while also claiming to have changed and become a new person since her little detour to Jacksonville, FL. Carly can be a character you love, a character you hate, and a character you love to hate for many reasons, including her lack of self-awareness. Now, Laura Wright is weighing in on the character she has played since 2005.

Laura Wright Just Loves Playing In Carly’s World

Fans of Wright will notice that she frequently posts on social media on days when she is on the GH set, expressing her excitement to be “playing in Carly’s World.” This is because Wright enjoys many aspects of Carly.

She was unable to pick just one aspect of the character that she thought Soap Opera Digest asked her she liked best.

“Everything! Wright retorted, “I love her energy, I love her devotion for her family, I love her conceit and how bratty she is. “I adore her inner child. I adore the eroticism she emits, especially when she wants something. I adore how she always feels justified in everything she does.
She had to admit, though, that when she first assumed the character that had been performed by three actresses before her, there was something about Carly she detested.

“I believe she has softened a little, but I also believe that, particularly when I first began portraying her, her immediate defensiveness could be really harsh. She doesn’t seem to do it as frequently now, which I believe is a result of growing older, becoming wiser, mourning a kid, and having a daughter who is constantly watching her every action. However, there was something for which I had to apologize to the actors I had worked with.

Laura Wright Believes Carly Has Truly Changed

Wright does believe that Carly changed for the better as a result of that trip, despite being her usual demanding and intrusive self when she returned to Port Charles from Florida.

Wright told Digest, “I think Carly realizes life in her world doesn’t revolve around Sonny.” “And that was a whole new universe when Sonny fell from the bridge and Carly believed he was dead. The moment Carly realized, “I can do it on my own,” I believe, was when Sonny lost his memory and they both had to learn how to live without each other.

As a result, I believe the biggest shift or evolution occurred over the past 18 months, when Sonny, who was thought to be dead, unexpectedly reappeared and chose not to choose her and their family. Therefore, I believe you are actually seeing a very different Carly.
