On General Hospital, Jake Spencer hasn’t been seen in a while despite the drama his mother and older brother have been experiencing, but in the real world, actor Hudson West has undergone a change of his very own.
And the reason for that is that this exceptionally gifted young actor, who was born on March 3, 2008, in Dayton, Ohio, turns 15 today! West’s first paid job, a nationally broadcast commercial, came when he was just 6 years old. Shortly after, he and his family moved to Los Angeles, where the developing actor had access to much wider chances.
It’s interesting to note that West had a successful year in 2014, appearing in a number of short films, including When the Game Comes Down and Minnow Tank, as well as the TV show Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn.
In addition to Of Fortune and Gold (2015) and the short film Embedded, he made his cinematic debut in Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 (2015). (2015). In 2016, he was cast as Jake Spencer on General Hospital and as Travis Clark, Marcia Clark’s son, in the FX miniseries American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson.
On April 25, 2016, West made his first appearance on GH, taking the position of outgoing performer James Nigbor. West’s character has faced many challenges during his time on the soap opera, including discovering that the man he thought was his father (whose face had been changed by plastic surgery) was actually his uncle and battling lingering brainwashing that almost caused him to spread a plague to the uninformed townspeople.
Among West’s many other roles are recurring ones on Grace and Frankie (2016–2019), Teachers (2017–2018), Penny Dreadful: City of Angeles (2020), and Like It Was Yesterday (2021), in addition to a number of voice parts for animated series like Clarence (2016), We Bare Bears (2017), and Shimmer and Shine (2018). (2018). West participated in Dancing with the Stars: Junior in 2018. Hayley Erbert served as his mentor, and he was partnered with Kameron Couch.
