Dominic Zamprogna, a star of General Hospital, recently shared an interest of his that he typically doesn’t speak about all that much. The actor, who gained fame for playing Dante Falconeri on the popular ABC serial opera, claims to be a fan of all the Toronto sports teams, and for a very good cause. What he says is as follows.
General Hospital Star Dominic Zamprogna Opens Up About One Of His Biggest Passions
In a recent conversation with Soap Opera Digest, Dom stated that Toronto is where his passion is. I feel like you have no option — you kind of grow up rooting for these local teams because it’s such a contagious vibe, he said. Hockey is so popular in Canada, but since I never truly participated, I feel like the least Canadian Canadian. My parents didn’t really enjoy the hockey scene of [taking their kids to practice] at 5 a.m. on a Saturday, so I spent my entire youth playing street hockey in, like, church parking spaces. However, I never learned to skate. So it’s ironic that I like the item I can’t perform. I play soccer, but I’m not a big lover of watching it; I enjoy playing it more than I enjoy watching it. In contrast, I enjoy watching hockey more because I was terrible at it [laughs].
Dom acknowledged that even though he no longer lives in Canada and is now based in Los Angeles, it’s not too difficult to stay in touch with his teammates. Every major league offers a means to view events, so I subscribe to the NHL package, the NBA package, and the MLB package, the man said. I genuinely observe everything. When I had kids, I used to watch more, but you have to select and choose because when you watch athletics as much as I do, you get some fairly dirty looks. But I’m attempting to involve my children now that they are a little bigger. I encourage them to watch the games with me and have had various degrees of success so far.
General Hospital Star Dominic Is All About his Toronto Leafs
You know, there aren’t many things in this world that are in the present, Dom said when asked why he enjoys watching the Toronto Leafs perform so much. When you observe sports, you get to witness split-second, real-time decision-making that leads to these absolutely stunning goals. I have a lot of respect for these people’s skills and ability, and when you watch them perform, you’re instantly immersed in the action.
