Pregnant women don’t just give birth in Port Charles, as General Hospital spoilers demonstrate. They hardly ever deliver their babies while taking painkillers, unlike so many mothers today, unless it is an emergency. GH knows how to pull it off, whether it’s a roadside surprise or a birth filled with arguments and drama. Here are a few of Port Charles’ most dramatic and memorable births.
General Hospital Spoilers — Josslyn Was Born in a Car
Claudia Zacchara and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) were stranded in a cabin lit only by candles (Sarah Joy Brown). Longtime GH and Carly fans were delighted by this well-known moment because Sarah Joy was playing Carly at the time. Claudia steps in and pushes Josslyn “Joss” Jacks’ (Eden McCoy) shoulders down to reposition her for birth as Carly struggles to push Joss out. Sadly, while Joss arrived in fine condition, Claudia lost her sense of reality after losing her own child and now she’s determined to steal Joss. Although Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) arrived just in time to accidentally kill Claudia by bashing her over the head with an ax, Carly is too frail to stop him.
GH Spoilers Indicate Carly Gave Birth to Morgan and Shots Were Fired
Carly (Bryan Craig) was holed up with Lorenzo Alcazar (Ted King) during a storm when she gave birth to Morgan Corinthos. Having trouble getting to the hospital? Carly was sobbing and shouting as Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) arrived and kicked his way through the door in the pouring rain. Lorenzo was standing over Carly. Sonny pulled out his revolver, believing Lorenzo was harming Carly, and shot him. Lorenzo was struck by the bullet, which then struck Carly and lodged in her brain. Soon after Morgan was born, this led to her going into a coma. Despite the fact that surgery saved her life, Carly lost Morgan at age 21 in a car explosion intended for Sonny.
General Hospital Spoilers — Maxie Natural Nature-Based Births, Times Two
With just Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) assistance, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) gave birth to baby James West (Owen and Curtis Rufca) in 2018 on the side of a fairly busy road one night. At the time, that was all she needed. In the year 2021, Maxie was forced to give birth to Bailey Louise Jones, Peter’s daughter (played by London and Jett Prino-Berendt), while evading him and the insane nurse he hired to induce Maxie’s labor.
With the assistance of Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth), who just so happened to be jogging by, Maxie gave birth in the forest on a mound of leaves. Then, as part of the ladies’ scheme to make it appear as though Maxie had been abducted, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) arrived, knocked the good doctor out, and took Maxie’s child. All in a day’s work!

GH Spoilers Hints Britt Gave Birth at Exactly the Right Time
Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma), who helped Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) when she had no one else to turn to, welcomed her to stay at Wyndemere. When they argued and she revealed he wasn’t the father of her child, Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson) arrived and shattered Britt’s plan.
Britt went into labor before she could leave Wyndemere because Nikolas was upset with her for being so dishonest and told her to leave. Ben was born thanks to the support of Nikolas and Sabrina Santiago (Theresa Castillo). After the birth, Nikolas’ attitude toward Britt and her child changed, and he extended an invitation for them to stay. Discuss being in the appropriate castle at the appropriate time.
