GH Spoilers: Maurice Benard’s Bipolar Disorder Is Under Control
Thanks to his medicine, Maurice’s bipolar disorder is now under control. That does not imply, however, that he has not encountered difficulties. Benard’s mental health and the events of the last few years have not been good. The COVID pandemic caused GH to halt production, which altered his schedule. Then Benard’s father was given an Alzheimer’s diagnosis, which caused a downward spiral in him.
On the Christopher Closeup episode, Benard revealed himself. “In my head, it was the end of the world.” I felt it so strongly. That stress was awful. Benard acknowledges that he was having suicide thoughts once more. He admitted, “I don’t think I can go on any longer Buddy, I don’t think I can go on any longer. I was in the car with my son and I was weeping.” He responds, “What, Dad?” “I don’t think I can,” I murmured. Then he promises, “Dad, I’ll look after you.” So he did. My other children were wonderful as well.
Benard advises those who are experiencing a mental health crisis to seek assistance. All you have to do to get assistance is ask.
