In this week’s Sneak Peek, General Hospital teasers and updates hint that Laura Collins (Genie Francis) attempts to persuade a recalcitrant Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) not to take responsibility for his actions. Spencer feels like he played Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) for a fool and should have seen through his tactics, creating a rift between himself and his father.
General Hospital Spoilers: You Can’t Fix His Messes
Spencer had earlier experienced regret as he watched and played with his infant baby sibling at the hospital nursery with his uncle Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). Spencer had been at odds with Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss), who was both his and the baby’s father, and had intended to gain possession of his younger brother. Since no one could locate Nikolas, Spencer now understands what Sonny already knew and holds himself responsible for him and the child’s paternity.
Sonny informed Spencer he couldn’t repair his father’s mistakes while Laura was consoling Esmé Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) in her hospital room after having a nightmare. Soon after Sonny departs, Laura comes back and attempts to console him. She then carries on their conversation with Spencer.
GH Spoilers: Laura Collins Tells Spencer Cassadine Not To Blame Himself
Spencer is given more advice by Laura, who urges him not to hold himself responsible for his father’s departure. He shouldn’t be attempting to carry this weight alone, she tells him, and if she knew where Nikolas was, she would do everything in her power to ensure that he was with Spencer at this very moment.
Spencer simply looks down in shame and tells Laura that he gets it because Ryan used him, but Laura objects, saying that he didn’t; rather, he simply followed the crowd’s lead. Everyone, according to Laura, thought that Ryan had locked-in syndrome, was unable to speak or move, and that they should all feel guilty as a result of Spencer’s claim. And Ryan had conned everyone, including the specialists, including her husband and Ryan’s doppelganger Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom), who may have been mistaken all along or may have made a full recovery.
General Hospital Spoilers: Spencer Cassadine Rage Reacts
Spencer responds to his grandma by clapping back, saying it’s not the same thing, and claiming Ryan used him as a tool against his father without his knowledge. Laura follows him as he walks away from her in a clearly enraged manner, urging him not to place the responsibility elsewhere. She stops him, commands him to turn around, and states her argument: since he was unaware, he is not at fault.
In a fit of anger, Spencer responds angrily and snaps at her, telling her that of course he is to blame! Spencer had very lofty standards of himself and his ability to make inferences, but he fell short.
