Spoilers for General Hospital indicate Right now, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) isn’t thinking too far ahead. In fact, when Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) cornered her and demanded to know if she was pregnant by him, Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton), she chose the route he had prepared simply because it was the quickest way to end her relationship with him and avoid having to give another explanation for why she and Nikolas would both have prenatal vitamins on hand.
Elizabeth will come to understand that she is now responsible for far more than just this one minor deception when the reality of what she has done sinks in. Making the commitment today entails parenting a child for the ensuing 18 years. As that realization sets in, Nikolas will be the one to put Liz on the spot by questioning her suitability for the job.
General Hospital Spoilers — The Future Awaits
Elizabeth will back Nikolas and consent to raising his child as her own with him, but why? What does this mean for her? Sure, it helps her avoid the catastrophe that is her life right now, but this won’t last forever. Elizabeth doesn’t typically behave in such an impetuous and unreasonable manner, and she would never instruct her sons to do so. Is there a reason why she wants a child now, especially with a man she isn’t in love with?
GH Spoilers Tease This is All a Distraction
From a distance, it appears as though Elizabeth is merely attempting to support Nikolas as he tries to cope with the realities that life has dealt him. But there’s more going on here than meets the eye. She cares about more than just her friend and his newborn child. In this case, Elizabeth is also benefiting. When she realized Finn still wanted to continue their connection, it became an even better opportunity for her to divert her attention from the reality about her history that she had discovered while she was in California. Before she even departed for Monterey, she appeared to be completely over it. She’ll realize that her dedication to Nikolas’ cause was merely a means of delaying her commitment to Finn for the time being when she looks back on this.
General Hospital Spoilers — Elizabeth Doesn’t Think She Deserves Finn
Why Elizabeth desired that diversion in the first place will never make sense to Finn. She wasn’t supposed to be running away from this man; she was supposed to be falling in love with him. After losing her late husband, Franco Baldwin, Elizabeth was nevertheless frail and unprepared for a relationship from the start (Roger Howarth). She may have entered the relationship with Finn too quickly, but she also experienced multiple traumas once it started that she didn’t have time to understand or heal from before the next one happened.
Elizabeth was deeply shaken by the rumored demise of Peter August (Wes Ramsey), and she was concerned for both her own and her son’s futures. She emotionally deteriorated more as she began to lose track of time and began to fear she was going crazy. The final straw was finding out what she had done to Reiko Finn (Mele Ihara) and that her father had an affair with Finn’s late wife. Elizabeth attempted to avoid it, but she was unable to do so. Future success for her won’t be assured by the cowardly action. To find out how this plays out, keep checking back for more GH news, information, and spoilers!
