General Hospital Spoilers: Does Esme Really Love Her Baby, Or Does She Love That Her Baby Will Love Her?

She has grown devoted to the child she is carrying, therefore she has no intention of giving up lightly and letting Nikolas take care of her for the rest of her days in Greece. Esme has a troubled past, and her early years undoubtedly contributed to a complex mash-up of emotional disorders that she’s handled extremely poorly. We are aware of her dislike of coping with rejection and her strong insistence that things be done her way or the highway.

Esme thinks she has a right to everything and doesn’t believe anyone should be allowed to take something that she feels is rightfully theirs. That might be a result of the anguish of being placed for adoption and the constant need to connect with and learn about her biological parents in order to comprehend their decision. Even knowing her birth father, Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom), was unaware of her existence may have helped a little, but it hasn’t lessened the sorrow she feels knowing her birth mother had to have been aware of her and chose to end their relationship.

GH Spoilers Hint Her Birth Parents Didn’t Come Through

Esme might have experienced a happy ending, which is probably what the majority of birth moms desire for their children when they place them for adoption. Esme, though, didn’t see a happy family in the near future. Esme briefly suggested a betrayal or an affair by the third party who allegedly tore her adoptive parents apart, ensuring that her family would never be the same again. Her adoptive parents inexplicably passed away as they were getting ready to be divorced. We still don’t know how that happened, or if Esme was involved. Esme once more felt unloved as a result of the same outcome.

Esme might be feeling like this baby is a new beginning for her on some level. After the kid is delivered, she doesn’t know what Nikolas intends to do to or with her, but she doesn’t trust him. It would not be the first time Nurse Baldwin had been blind to what Nikolas was actually up to, always preferring to believe the best in him, despite Elizabeth’s assurances that he had nothing evil in mind. Nikolas had not previously showed Esme any affection, but in recent weeks, he has.

The realization that she is not The Hook, along with the knowledge that Esme is most certainly carrying his kid, may have had an effect on him. Esme, on the other hand, is beginning to relate to Elizabeth on a more maternal level, which could be helping to make up for the lack of maternal love she never had. In addition, this kid may provide Esme with the unwavering love she has been seeking, as the child won’t be hindered by preconceived preconceptions about the mother.
