General Hospital Spoilers: Diane Has Disappointing News For Spencer — Someone Else Will Be Caring For Baby Ace

General Hospital spoilers reveal that Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) has just stopped Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) dead in his tracks. As Spencer was rifling through a car seat manual and attempting to figure out how to take his baby brother, Ace Cassadine, home to start their life together, Diane arrived to let him know Ace wouldn’t be going anywhere. Is Ace sticking around the hospital longer? Are there medical problems no one knew about, or has someone stepped in to block Spencer from taking charge of his baby brother’s life?

General Hospital Spoilers — Spencer Had it All Mapped Out

When Spencer attempted to gain custody of his younger brother, he was aware that he was taking a big risk. He initially made an effort to keep Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) on his side by hugging her after she was admitted to the hospital and even making the suggestion to her that he was likely the father of her unborn child.

Even though she now realizes that’s not the case, she wasn’t prepared to give Spencer the cold shoulder until he unexpectedly appeared in her hospital bed, acting quite differently and threatening to take her son away. When Spencer learned that Esme deliberately chose to attack him on the advice of her father, Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom), he became immediately enraged with her. That was all a lie; they were never actually a couple. Even though Esme is unable to recall anything, he is nonetheless emotionally responsible for her. Spencer is now being told by Diane that, for the time being, he cannot act as Ace’s father.

GH Spoilers Hint Laura is Concerned

Laura was worried that Spencer might attempt to take on more than he could handle. He only has a limited understanding of what it means to be a father from the viewpoint of a child who doesn’t want to be anything like his own father. Laura is aware that Spencer’s true motivation was to spite his father, and that part of that plan included not wanting his brother to raise himself with Nikolas as a parent.

Nevertheless, now that Nikolas is gone, Spencer doesn’t really need to shield Ace from Nik. So why, at such a young age, is he so determined to become a father? Is this Spencer’s attempt to avoid dealing with what actually occurred with Esme and his perceived share of the blame?

General Hospital Spoilers — Victor Has Plans for Ace

When Laura finds out that Ace isn’t leaving the hospital with Spencer because someone has challenged the custody paperwork Diane submitted on his behalf, she is about to become even more anxious. Spencer anticipated facing no competition in this bout.

Who could possibly want to take Ace off of Spencer’s hands when Esme isn’t able to provide him a home since she is going back to jail? Why, Victor Cassadine, his uncle, of course (Charles Shaughnessy). Victor believes that if he has custody of Ace, he would inherit the Cassadine money that Nikolas left behind. This would make perfect sense if Victor were also the one directing Mason (Nathaniel Grey) and instructing him to keep Nikolas on life support.
