General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) desperately wants a DNA test – just so he can know for sure whether Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) might be his biological daughter. Ever since Curtis found out it was a possibility, he can’t stop looking at Trina through the lens of being a father.
We must take into account the possibility that the show is preparing for a surprising paternity twist.
The longer Trina puts off this DNA test, the more uneasy we become about the outcome.
While it is true that Trina and Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) had a match on the ancestry website, what if that was just a technical error?
If so, Real Andrews’ character Marcus Taggert might actually be Trina’s biological father.
There are a few reasons why the GH writers might decide to go down this false alarm path and reveal that Curtis is not Trina’s biological father after all.
The first is that Taggert has gained the favor of many fans as Trina’s father, so why upset the apple cart?
With all due respect to the actors, Trina and Curtis just don’t have the right father-daughter connection.
There isn’t any evidence of a family tie developing on screen, if there is supposed to be.
Maybe the authors will play up the fact that Taggert is the adoring father that everyone is rooting for.
If the DNA findings ultimately showed that Trina and Taggert are actually biologically related, it would be a comfort for them.
Marshall Ashford’s (Robert Gossett) incorrect diagnosis is another possibility as to why Curtis might not be the biological father.
Marshall learned he doesn’t actually have schizophrenia, and when he understood his diagnosis was incorrect, his entire world abruptly transformed.
It’s possible that the bombshell Curtis received was a set-up for another one. Now that Curtis has adopted this concept of parenthood, it has a significant impact on his life as well.
Curtis actually only needs concrete proof because he already seems to think he is Trina’s father.
What if the DNA findings ultimately show Curtis isn’t a match for Trina?
That can cause Curtis to feel cheated and turn his world upside down once more.
Marshall and Curtis might resolve their disagreement over their false presumptions and work together to discover a solution.
In other words, Curtis might conclude that the whole father drama was unnecessary.
If Curtis hears the news that Taggert is Trina’s biological father, he may regret he’d never gotten his hopes up.
