GENERAL HOSPITAL Spoilers 3/17/23: Trouble for Nina and Sonny?

In these GENERAL HOSPITAL spoilers, things are becoming more complicated! Laura maintains her composure, Lucy maintains her optimism, Diane shares excellent news, Robert plans his next move, Victor cautions Eileen, Carly reminds Sonny, Dex takes action, and Phyllis asks Nina if she sees a future with Sonny.

Laura says, “Life is full of surprises. So is she still making fun of Victor? What other shocks may she have in store for the Cassadine villain?

Lucy was already growing stir-crazy while hiding out in the safe home to make it appear as though she had passed away, but now that preparations are being made for the anniversary Nurses Ball, she is more anxious than ever to return to her previous life. Tell me this nightmare has an end, she begs.

Robert’s door is opened by Diane, who enters with some possibly encouraging news. She smiles slyly, “I’m about to make your day,” she says. Does Trina intend to drop the accusations against Esme? Because Robert doesn’t seem entirely clear of what to do next. What do you advise that I do?” he queries.

The deputy mayor is willing to sever all links with Victor in a medical exam room, but he doesn’t seem quite ready to do it just yet. He giggles, “Why on Earth would you be done?

Carly doesn’t care for Nina, but she is still married to Sonny, and she is his closest friend. She retorts, “We both know you can’t make that commitment. Dex pulls out his rifle after hearing a noise in the background. Who is now pursuing him?

Although Nina and Sonny have remained close since moving back to Port Charles, she is concerned about their relationship’s future due to the recent attempt on his life. Nina first fell in love with Sonny when he was just Mike the bartender. Then Phyllis visits her pal to give her some guidance. She ponders whether or not this is a relationship she can support. Will Nina be unable to manage the risk associated with Sonny’s venture?

Jane Elliot’s GH Return Date Revealed!

When it was revealed that Jane Elliot would be returning to GENERAL HOSPITAL to reprise her role as Tracy for the soap opera’s 60th anniversary, fans were pleased. They were even more overjoyed to find that this would be a lengthy engagement. Now that Tracy’s homecoming date has been made official, it’s time to mark your calendars!

According to Soap Opera Digest, Emma Samms will reprise her role as Holly Sutton on Friday, April 14, and Monday, April 17, will mark Elliot’s debut appearance on General Hospital. We’ll just have to wait and see if the timing of the two women’s arrivals in Port Charles was a coincidence or a deliberate move.

In 1978, Elliot made her GH debut. She played Tracy Quartermaine intermittently over the years, collecting four Daytime Emmy Award nominations and winning the award for Supporting Actress in 1981. Hell, she even transferred the well-liked character to ABC’s sibling soap THE CITY in 1996, but that move failed to increase the show’s viewership, and the following year it was cancelled.

Tracy was written off the serial in 2017 after Elliot decided to retire and have a happily-ever-after in Europe with Luke Spencer, but she continued to make sporadic trips back, mainly around the holidays. Tracy arrived in Port Charles during the actress’ final trip there in January and February 2022 with the devastating news that Luke had passed away in an Austrian cable car accident. She stayed to attend Luke’s funeral, then went back to Amsterdam to take care of his business.

With GH getting up to commemorate its 60th anniversary (the official date will fall on Saturday, April 1, this year), a big storyline is promised where idols of Port Charles link up to stop a mythical threat from the past. And given that Victor Cassadine’s nefarious plan is presently being thwarted by the good guys, Tracy (and Holly) are probably coming back to assist in that effort. Victor was behind Luke’s death, after all!

There has been no sign that Anthony Geary will return to help celebrate GH’s 60th anniversary, despite the fact that many fans are still hoping Tracy’s return will eventually reveal if Luke survived Victor’s attempt on his life. But pay attention because you never know what surprises are in store for you.

Emma Samms Returns to GENERAL HOSPITAL!

In Friday’s episode’s credits, several keen viewers spotted a name that gave them hope that Emma Samms may be coming back to GENERAL HOSPITAL! And it turns out that the actress who was given credit as Holly Sutton at the conclusion of that program wasn’t a typo – she’s actually returning!

Samms will be playing Holly once more, according to Soap Opera Digest, and her debut episode will broadcast on Friday, April 14. Nevertheless, there is currently no information regarding how long this specific run will last.

Samms made her GH debut as Holly Sutton in July 1982. She returned for a second term after her initial one ended in 1985, and subsequently made brief returns in 2006, 2009, 2012, 2013, and 2015. Upon her return in 2020, there was simply only a single, fleeting video of Holly on a security monitor, which was really taken at the actress’s house in England while she was battling Long COVID.

Samms was eventually in a position to return to work at the GH studio in October 2022, however it was only for a brief stint due to her ongoing problems with the challenging symptoms of Long COVID. Nonetheless, it appeared likely that Holly might return one day when she departed to go save her son Ethan from Victor’s grasp.

The decent citizens of Port Charles are going to need all the assistance they can get as the walls are finally closing in on Victor and they get ready to overthrow the villain and put an end to his evil schemes. Thus, be prepared for Holly to join the battle in April!
