We may be in for as big a shock as Sonny.
These days, General Hospital fans might be hard-pressed to remember when Nina was the sort of unstable Rip Van Winkle who would fake paralysis to hold on to a man and induce labor in a mother-to-be so as to obtain the child she felt she deserved. Sure, Nixon Falls was a step backward, but all things considered, it was a baby step. Or so it seemed…
Now, though, we’re not sure if Nina is who we thought she was. Sonny’s moll is coming out more like the schemer she previously was than the Ms. Nice Gal she has for so long pretended she is as she observes Willow and TJ and makes completely erroneous judgments. She may find it harder — perhaps impossible — to persuade even Sonny that every outfit she owns goes well with a halo this week as the “secret” she’s dying to spill slips off the tip of her tongue, causing all kinds of aftershocks.
Bad to the Bone?
Perhaps we shouldn’t be shocked if Nina turns out to be a complete liar. Perhaps Nelle’s nature, which she received from her mother, rather than her upbringing, is what made her such a hellion. Nina will undoubtedly contend with Sonny that she never brought up Willow’s “infidelity”; instead, she did it out of concern for Michael. Will Nina’s boyfriend, however, purchase that?
In addition to trying to get Nina imprisoned, Michael and Willow did prevent Wiley’s grandma from speaking to the moppet. Nina despises these individuals and would do anything to harm them in retaliation for harming her. Unbeknownst to any of them, Nina and Willow are mother and daughter, which is only the cherry on top of the drama that is yet to unfold.
Carly’s Victory Lap
You can bet that Carly will be the first to rejoice in Nina’s good fortune if the tide turns against her. Naturally, the chorus of “nya nyas” from the former Mrs. Corinthos would be silenced when it became clear that she had been keeping Nina and Willow in the dark about their family connection. Then, presto, Nina could use Carly’s betrayal to deflect attention from the fact that she was the one stirring the pot.
What do you think? Is Nina a saint, a sinner or somewhere in between?
