General Hospital Recaps: Confrontations, Lies & Forgiveness

The blame game was played a number of times throughout the General Hospital recaps for January 16–January 20, 2023, in addition to many other things.

General Hospital Recaps: Monday, January 16

The notion of suing Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) and Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) for exclusive custody of Esme’s child is floated by Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez). Diane (Carolyn Hennesy) offers to take up the fight on his behalf and says it’s doubtful but not impossible that he would prevail. Speaking with Esme, Laura (Genie Francis) discovers that Spencer implied he was the father of her unborn child.

Liz (Rebecca Herbst) learns from Nikolas that Victor (Charles Shaughnessy) has been using proof of Esme’s detention at Wyndemere to blackmail him. When Liz reveals Carolyn had forced her to forget her altercation with Reiko Finn, Nikolas perk ups.

Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) is shocked to learn that Nina (Cynthia Watros) is her mother. Nina’s attempts to approach Willow are rejected. Refereeing Carly (Laura Wright) and Sonny is Michael (Chad Duell) (Maurice Benard). Portia (Brook Kerr) is cautioned by Curtis (Donnell Turner) not to interfere with Trina’s (Tabyana Ali) relationship with Spencer; Taggert (Réal Andrews) disagrees. Curtis makes an effort to persuade Portia to create a family of her own.

GH Recaps: Tuesday, January 17

Esme’s admission to the institution prevents Heather (Alley Mills), who had intended to flee Spring Ridge and kill Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), from carrying out her murderous plot.

The possibility of becoming Willow’s bone marrow match is revealed to Nina, but more research is required.

When asked whether she would induce labour or deliver her daughter through C-section, Willow shrugs.

Victor is informed by Martin (Michael E. Knight) that Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) are searching for Lucy’s (Lynn Coe) location. Valentin contacts an old acquaintance in Paris, France, who he is confident can assist him and Anna in breaking into Victor’s stronghold.

General Hospital Recaps: Wednesday, January 18

Esme meets Heather, who ends up making her uncomfortable…

Michael doesn’t show any emotion to his mother. Carly is exonerated by Willow, nonetheless, of lying to others about her pregnancy. Sonny is urged by Willow to reconcile with Michael. One of Victor’s thugs appears to buy Valentin and Anna out through his acquaintance. Spencer and Ava (Maura West) team together with the explicit intent of harming Nikolas and Esme.

GH Recaps: Thursday, January 19

Carly is called out by Sonny for her deception.

Liesl (Kathleen Gati) is informed by Austin (Roger Howarth) that Nina needs a pleasant face. Nina is persuaded by Liesl not to pursue revenge on Carly. Josslyn stands up for Carly, but Michael doesn’t acknowledge her… Michael is amenable as Dex (Evan Hofer) reiterates his desire to bring Sonny down. Marshall (Robert Gossett) refuses Portia and Curtis’ request for him to play his trumpet at their wedding. Marshall is pushed by Portia to get a schizophrenia test.

General Hospital Recaps: Friday, January 20

Insisting that finding out he was misdiagnosed and left his family for no apparent reason would be heartbreaking, Marshall refuses to participate in the testing.

Josslyn and Dex are caught by Cameron in an uncomfortable situation.

Elizabeth and Finn (Michael Easton) tell Violet why they broke up.

Victor coerces Nikolas into giving full control of Spoon Island to Ava.

Ava and Austin become friends. Ava later stops Austin and Mason during a set-to. In the short term, Michael acknowledges that he cannot see himself forgiving Carly, but the long term is another matter.
