General Hospital spoilers confirm that Britt Westbourne‘s health deteriorates, and she may ask Dr. Austin Gatlin Holt to help her end her pain and fear. Will Faison’s daughter take her own life to spare herself the torture of Huntington’s Disease on the ABC soap?
Britt Westbourne Terrified of Her Fate on General Hospital
Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) has been anticipating the onset of Huntington’s disease for some time. She recently revealed her condition to Dr. Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth). She also gave her mother a GH update.
See spoilers On General Hospital, Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) was horrified to learn from Britt how far her illness had advanced. It turns out that Britt had been experiencing symptoms for a lot longer than she had thought. However, she put it out of her mind due to all the drama.
But now, Dr. Talone (Sharon Omi), a specialist in Huntington’s disease, informed Dr. Westbourne that she was suffering from the illness’ advanced stages. These include deterioration of the body, mental decline brought on by brain damage to the nerves, and ultimately death.
Therefore, we see on General Hospital that Britt Westbourne is fearful of both dying and becoming helpless. Suicidal thoughts are one of the typical signs of Huntington’s disease. She appears to be moving in that direction as she turns to face Austin Holt.
Will Dr. Austin Gatlin Holt Assist with Suicide on GH?
Liesl (Josh Kelly) confides in Cody Bell this week as her worries about her daughter grow. Next week, however, things change. According to GH spoilers for Monday, December 5, Britt informs Austin of her plans.
We believe she may be considering suicide in order to avoid the rigors of this fatal illness. Will Austin Holt, a doctor at General Hospital, assist her in killing herself? After all, Austin is aware of the illness’s potential for disability.
Given his hazy medical history, he might be the most appropriate person for Britt to speak with. As seen on GH, Austin performs surgical procedures on criminals without informing the authorities of gunshot wounds.
Austin Holt has plenty of experience doing so on General Hospital. But would he actually help someone commit suicide? Maybe. He is aware of what lies ahead for her as the illness worsens. He therefore has empathy.
Britt Westbourne Leaving General Hospital – Will Austin Be Her Way Out?
It’s already confirmed that Kelly Thiebaud is leaving GH and the role of Britt. In fact, she’s already working at ABC series Station 19 again, reprising her role of Eva Vasquez.
And with the Huntington’s storyline moving rapidly now, it’s likely that is what will see Britt Westbourne leave General Hospital. Even if Austin Holt refuses to help her, if this is how she wants to handle it, she can find a way.
It’s infuriating to see the chemistry in these Britt/Austin scenes and think we could have had this for the last 18 months and now Britt’s dying. What a waste. #GH

As a doctor working at a busy hospital, Britt can easily access all sorts of medications she could use to trigger a fatal overdose. Given the new GH spoilers of her telling Austin about her plan, it seems possible.
Wait to see next week if Britt Westbourne plans to take her life before the disease cripples her — and whether Dr. Austin Holt will help her.
