Well, we certainly didn’t see this coming! General Hospital star Ingo Rademacher (ex-Jasper Jacks) got to enjoy a very special reunion with another Port Charles alumni this past Thanksgiving. Here’s what you need to know.
General Hospital News: Ingo Rademacher Has A Very Special Reunion With Another Port Charles Alum
Derk Cheetwood, the one and only, visited Ingo and his family in Panama City for the vacation, according to Ingo. “Look who came to visit from just up the street in Tennessee,” he wrote alongside a photo that he posted to Instagram. Max! @derkcheetwood We last had a BBQ in Hawaii in 2015. Kids had time to play. It was fantastic to see my brother.
Wow! Maurice Benard asked, “Who is that,” and Ingo quickly responded, “@mauricebenard.” Hey, man. Play Sonny any? It has been a while, but I forgot.
The refusal of Ingo and his former General Hospital co-star Steve Burton to follow the network’s vaccine mandate back in 2021 resulted in their dismissal, as many fans are likely already aware. Deadline reports that Walt Disney has abandoned the requirement for COVID vaccinations for many of its television programs. The most dangerous parts of production sets will no longer require workers in front of and behind the camera to be immunized. As many fans will remember, as part of the so-called Return to Work agreement from the previous year, producers and unions agreed to the use of vaccination requirements.
General Hospital News: What’s Next For Ingo?
Sadly, it doesn’t seem like Ingo will have another opportunity with his previous employers at the ABC network. Ingo’s situation is made worse by the ongoing discrimination lawsuit the actor is bringing against the ABC network. The actor claimed that the ABC network’s vaccination requirement was merely a “ruse” to ostensibly remove him from the show. Ingo thinks that since his contract was up in the summer of 2021, General Hospital had already intended to fire him.
Simply put, ABC did not fire Ingo because he failed to carry out the crucial duties of his position, according to his attorney. It let him go because it didn’t agree with the social and political opinions he expressed. He was let go because he didn’t agree with the company’s preferred social and political viewpoints. That is a breach of Ingo’s employment contract and a violation of the California Labor Code.
