The renowned actress did, however, reveal during a Facebook Live session that she is working on reviving the wildly successful soap opera Santa Barbara for an online streaming service! Nancy Lee Grahn Revives Santa Barbara for Online Streaming Platform!
For as long as we can remember, Nancy has served as Alexis at General Hospital. Nancy did, however, spend nine years portraying a lawyer in Santa Barbara before taking on her GH legal job. The gifted actress recently discussed her wonderful experience working on the hit soap opera Santa Barbara during a Facebook live session. She had originally planned on leaving the soap after just one or two years. But she had such a positive experience that she decided to stay for nine long years! up till the 1993 cancellation of the soap opera.
The soap opera is still very dear to Nancy’s heart, even though it was discontinued 30 years ago, and she wants to bring her back on the web streaming service Hulu. “I have the writer, the producer, and a ton of actors,” the speaker said. She reasons that given how well Days of Our Lives is performing on Peacock, it would make a lot of sense! It located a residence. According to Nancy, it keeps the workers and actors employed.
The actor for General Hospital revealed that she is not the only one who believes that Santa Barbara would perform well on Hulu. When Nancy addressed the cast of the program with her plan to revive the storied soap from the past, several of the actors, including Harley Jane Kozak, Joe Marinelli, and Leigh J. McCloskey, among others, agreed with Nancy’s stance. It’s interesting to note that Santa Barbara, like Days of Our Lives before it moved to Peacock, was also broadcast on NBC.
Is Nancy Lee Grahn Leaving General Hospital To Move To Santa Barbara?
The General Hospital actor revealed that Santa Barbara has not been on the air for 30 years, in contrast to Days of Our Lives. So, unlike DOOL, the relocation would not go as smoothly. To test the waters, she initially had a 10-episode production scheduled. When she realized that she needed the soap to air not just in the US but also globally, her plan met a snag. Additionally, Hulu is not a global streaming service. Disney+ is something that I am also unsure of. Due to Santa Barbara’s rights being held by 20th Century Fox, I am only able to visit those locations. Added she.
The actress claimed that she was unsure whether anyone would choose Santa Barbara if it didn’t air internationally. She assured him, though, that she is still working on the project to find a solution. She won’t be leaving General Hospital for Santa Barbara any time soon, so this is also a good thing! Fans need not panic, as Nancy will continue to portray the vivacious attorney Alexis that we all adore! So tune in to ABC during the weekdays to see if she encounters the Hook Killer and if so, how!
