The actress is the host of the mental health-focused podcast State of Mind. On his podcast, he has been joined by many soap opera performers who have shared their problems. Benard has talked openly about his own struggle with mental illness as a bipolar person.
Up until 2000, he kept it a secret for a very long period. He started speaking out to let those who were suffering from comparable problems know that they weren’t alone out of a desire to aid them.
Rena Sofer Drops By On State Of Mind
Benard recently acknowledged to State of Mind that Rena Sofer terrified him. The actor recounted how “nervous all the time” he felt during his early days on the soap opera.
Benard continued by saying that in addition to Sofer, Genie Francis intimidated him as well. However, Sofer may have felt otherwise due of her strong, steely blue eyes and her look.
Additionally, Sofer related a tale involving Vanessa Marcil, who portrayed Brenda Barrett. She has occasionally arrived late and forgotten her lines. When Sofer voiced her concerns about it, it never happened again.
Sofer as Lois Cerullo
Fans might remember Sofer from his role as Louis Cerullo on the soap opera. As a manager for Ned Quartermaine or Eddie Maine, her character moved to Port Charles. They married, fell in love, and had a daughter together named Brook Lynn Quartermaine.
Along with finding love in Port Charles, Cerullo also ran across an old pal from Bensonhurst, Port Charles crime boss Sonny Corinthos. They reestablished their friendship and got to know one another better.
General Hospital Spoilers: Sonny Negotiates A Deal
Spoilers suggest that Sonny will successfully negotiate and clinch a transaction. Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) proposal might be a factor. Once this arrangement is made, Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) will try to take advantage of Sonny’s unlawful actions. It will be a hazardous transaction, but after everything is finalized and the sale is closed, Dex will have greater stakes in it.
