General Hospital viewers were a little confused when they saw a new face walking around Port Charles, claiming to be Prince Nikolas Cassadine. However, upon closer inspection, many realized the face was not so unfamiliar after all.
Of course, it wasn’t actor Marcus Coloma, but it was actor Adam Huss! Ardent viewers of the ABC soap remembered him as the actor who embodied Nikolas in an episode back in September 2021. And now he is back to portray the dark prince again, temporarily replacing Marcus.
Recently, General Hospital has been using a lot of these temporary fill-ins. More times than one can count have been cast in the role of Nikolas Cassadine! Tyler Christopher played Nik when it originally appeared on film in 1996. Colton Scott, an actor, took over the part in 1999, and he continued to portray Nik through 2003. The role of Nikolas Cassadine was reprised by actor Tyler Christopher after 2003 and up to 2016.
When Tyler Christopher left General Hospital later that year, actor Nick Stabile briefly filled his place. His involvement was only meant to help Nikolas transition out of the ABC soap opera’s continuing plots, therefore his stay was brief. After then, the character spent almost three years off-screen. Nikolas Cassadine was recast with actor Marcus Coloma in 2019 and returned to the big screen. He has so far been portraying the role.
General Hospital Star’s Worst Nightmare Comes True
Fascinatingly, however, Marcus had discussed his worries about being replaced on General Hospital with his co-star, Maurice Benard. He might feel a little uneasy in this short-term recast, for sure. We don’t sure why there was a recast, but we do hope it’s only temporary. Currently, Nikolas Cassadine is involved in a very significant and captivating tale. With Esme claiming to be carrying his kid, Ava returning to her parents’ house, and his run-ins with his ex-girlfriend, Liz. The Cassadine Prince has far too much going on right now!
Having said that, we have to admit actor Adam Huss is really talented and knows his craft well. Apart from his stint as Nikolas on General Hospital, he has been part of other popular projects. For example, Days of Our Lives, The Bold and The Beautiful, Passions, and NCIS: Los Angeles top the list on his resume. We hope to see him in a more substantial role on General Hospital some day.
