General Hospital is introducing a very important storyline to set the stage for the idea that doctors can be patients as well. It was previously made known that Dr. Britt Westbourne has Huntington’s disease. The compassionate doctor kept this information well hidden from her fellow Port Charles residents, though. She never hid anything from her mother or her close friend Jason Morgan. According to recent rumors spreading on social media, Dr. Britt will now discuss her illness as it progresses. She will then probably leave PC to receive additional treatment. Or, even worse, giving in to her illness.
If rumors are to be believed, Kelly Thiebaud’s character on General Hospital was written out in order to make Britt’s Huntington disease worse. Dr. Liesl Obrecht and Scotty Baldwin, Dr. Britt’s boyfriend, had been keeping her secret up until this point. She only decided to confide in Jason Morgan as the other person. He helped her get through it while also keeping her secret. Unfortunately, Jason lost his life when a bridge collapsed. Since then, Dr. Britt has been fighting her illness and personal demons alone.
Dr. Britt Nearing Her End On General Hospital?
However, recently on General Hospital, Dr. Britt revealed her diagnosis to Dr. Austin Holt. Since Britt confided in Austin, he has been nothing but supportive and encouraging of her. He has counseled her to make a plan of action so she may take control of her deteriorating health. She first resisted Dr. Austin’s advice and showed resistance. However, the most recent teasers indicate that she has finally chosen to dig into her diagnosis and take the necessary steps.
But sadly, General Hospital spoilers indicate that when she receives an unpleasant and bad health update, the reality of her advanced illness will hit her hard. According to reports, Kelly Thiebaud is expected to leave her position within the final week of November. It remains to be seen if Dr. Britt will take a break to rest off-screen or if it will be a permanent change. Or will it be more severe, resulting in Dr. Britt’s tragic death from her illness? A statement from the actress Kathleen Gati, however, raises the probability of the latter. According to Kathleen, this was possibly the most difficult and meaningful episode she had filmed in the previous ten years.

KG “I have to say this was probably the most painful and profound episode I have filmed in 10 years”
These changes on General Hospital have come in light of the fact that Kelly has reprised her role as Eva Vasquez on ABC’s Station 19. And, she may not have enough time to juggle between the two roles. However, we still hope this is only temporary and we get to see Dr. Britt on screen again. Meanwhile, Stay tuned to ABC to catch the latest episodes of General Hospital.
