‘General Hospital’: Is Dex Sonny’s Long-Lost Son?

General Hospital’s Dex Heller seems to have a personal motive for taking down Sonny Corinthos that goes beyond his job. And recent clues hint that the mob enforcer may be the kingpin’s son on the ABC sudser.

General Hospital: Dex Heller After Sonny Corinthos

Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) has entered the GH world, wanting to work for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). In Volonino’s Gym, he began filling in for Chet Driscoll (Chris Van Etten).

Yet his objective was to work for the mob. He had an excessive amount of ambition to become Sonny’s right-hand guy immediately away. According to General Hospital recaps, he was also so eager to impress the kingpin that he was practically desperate.

Then, when it was discovered that Dex works for Michael Corinthos, everything made sense (Chad Duell). He needed to become close to Sonny and earn his trust in order to assist Michael in locking Sonny up for good.

But for a split second, it appeared as though Dex was reconsidering killing the gang boss. He appeared to be on the verge of siding with his other boss on General Hospital and turning against Michael.

Newbie on the Fence GH

For a while, he seemed to be softening toward Sonny Corinthos. He didn’t seem to think that the don was a monster like Michael made him out to be. Dex thought he was a good guy at heart.

But then, things took a turn when the Godfather of Port Charles thought his new hire could be The Hook Killer. So he hung his lackey from a meat hook and had him tortured for days. Indeed, he could’ve died on General Hospital.

Dex Heller then realized how brutal he was capable of being. Afterwards, on General Hospital, he appeared more determined to assist Mikey in sending him to jail.

He’s doing it while utilizing the Pikeman Security contract. Yet as he makes an effort to approach the mafioso, signs start to emerge that indicate he may be after him for more personal reasons.

New Clue Suggests Kingpin Has Another Kid on General Hospital

Dex was recruited by Mikey, but Mikey could have been the victim of a set-up. The newb could have put himself in Michael’s orbit to get to Sonny Corinthos. They may have a past based on recent events where he prepared dinner for the don using the don’s recipe cards.

He enjoys cooking just as much as the mob boss does. He also showed interest in his formative years. He can identify because they both have violent upbringings. Dex Heller from his brothers and Sonny from his stepfather.

They obviously get along well on GH. So, it begs the question: Could he be the mob boss’s child? He could very well be the offspring of the kingpin’s late wife, Lily Rivera (Lily Melgar).

Did Lily’s Baby Survive on GH?

Long-time General Hospital fans will recall that Lily was pregnant with Sonny’s child when she died in a car explosion. In addition, viewers may remember that the car bomb was meant for Sonny. So it’s entirely possible that the baby survived.

He may not have had the finest childhood because he moved in with Lily’s estranged family. He may have felt resentment toward his father as a result of his father’s role in his mother’s passing and his poor upbringing. Dex may have wished to confront his birth father because he wasn’t involved in his life.

And perhaps for that reason, he chose to work with Michael. Yet after witnessing Sonny’s unwavering devotion to his children, he appeared to reconsider his position on General Hospital. Maybe he did want him to be his father after all.

Yet his use of torture changed the game. Dex, though, appears to be softening once more following their recent discussion about their past. If he is Sonny’s adult kid, he may be conflicted about whether or not to assist in Sonny’s imprisonment.

There may soon be new information regarding Dex Heller’s past that establishes a significant tie to Sonny Corinthos on the ABC serial opera. Watch every day to find out if they are father and son and if Dex will stand up for him.
