‘General Hospital’: 5 Reasons Cody Bell Doesn’t Deserve Mac as a Dad

General Hospital’s Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) isn’t very popular amongst fans — and for good reason. Many GH viewers wish the con artist weren’t Mac Scorpio‘s (John J. York) son.

Read on for five reasons why he doesn’t deserve to have the PCPD detective as his dad on the ABC sudser.

#1 Cody Bell the Lawbreaking Schemer on General Hospital

It was immediately apparent that Cody Bell was a sketchy figure when he first appeared on the GH scene. When he parachuted into the Metro Court pool, he literally crashed into Port Charles.

Since then, he has continued to disrupt lives. Cody is a nomad who never remains put for an extended period of time. Additionally, according to General Hospital recaps, he’s constantly seeking the highest reward.

He truly struck gold when he discovered his family in Port Chuck. Cody Bell is entitled, but his true family doesn’t offer the high salaries. Everyone owes him something, in his opinion.

So, by tricking Mac, he is planning to get wealthy. Undoubtedly, the police chief is a much better father than Leopold Taub (Chip Lucia). But on General Hospital, making the claim that he is Leopold’s son works better for him.

The Ice Princess jewelry that dropped into Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) lap can be his if Leopold is his father. Cody is undoubtedly Mac’s complete opposite.

The legacy character is an honorable man who has worked in law enforcement for many years. The horse handler is taking advantage of this, therefore.

In order to rationalize his acts, he tells himself that he is not deserving of the Scorpio sign. However, he is deceiving everyone he is growing to care about. And on General Hospital, his plan will undoubtedly backfire.

#2 Cowboy Conned Britt Westbourne on GH

Cody is now defrauding Britt of the diamond necklace that is rightfully hers on General Hospital. He is unworthy of the Scorpio family for this reason and many others. In fact, it appears that he was playing Britt from the start.

It appears that Cody Bell was aware of the 35 million dollar necklace. He was aware that Britt was the key to obtaining it. He extorted Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) to pair him up with Britt because of this.

Britt is ready to face whatever it is Peter left behind for her. Could it change her relationship with Cody forever?

But now, he’s catching genuine feelings for Britt and may start to feel guilty for tricking her. However, Britt’s on her way out, so Cody Bell may continue his plot if he’s losing Britt anyway.

And it doesn’t end there. He has a way of finding trouble everywhere he goes. And he’s landed himself in the middle of more shady business.

#3 Wrapped up in Mob Biz on General Hospital

On top of his other schemes, Cody also works for lady gangster Selina Wu (Lydia Look). GH fans will recall that he tried to get in on one of Selina’s poker games at The Savoy.

Instead, he got himself beaten up by her henchman. Now, he’s a part of the games, but he must make sure things go the way Madame Wu wants.

If not, he’s in big trouble. Cody is neck-deep in illegal activity on General Hospital. No doubt, another reason he’s no good for Mac.

#4 Bad News for Dante on GH

Also, Cody may bring down his childhood pal Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna). Dante’s girlfriend Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) is on to the stable hand. And she will do everything she can to ensure he doesn’t hurt Spinelli or Dante.

But now Sam knows that by digging into hid past, she may also expose Dante’s past. So, Sam won’t be able to bring Cody down without dragging Dante down also on General Hospital.

She soon confides in Dante her worries regarding Cody Bell. And further information about what they were involved in as children might surface.

He is not suitable for anyone, in fact. His deceit and poor decisions are ruining GH. And it’s likely that he’s hiding something else as well.

#5 General Hospital Newbie Still Hiding Awful Past

There’s a high probability the novice is hiding a lot more than he is. He could still have a lot of secrets to keep. But ultimately it will become clear that Mac is Cody’s real father.

Maybe he’ll make a mistake and get caught. Mac might therefore be unable to move past the lies on GH. He might never accept his son into the family as a result.

So pay out to see if Cody Bell confronts Mac about lying about being his kid. Should the PCPD officer continue to work with the cowboy or expel him? Await results.
