Help us welcome Ellie back to Port Charles by joining us! The trailer for the episode airing on Friday, December 23, hinted that Emily Wilson will be coming back to GENERAL HOSPITAL.
Ellie Trout, a hospital lab technician, was Wilson’s first character to join the GH cast back in September 2012. She left the show in December 2013, along with Bradford Anderson’s Spinelli. The actress occasionally returned in the years that followed, but her last significant trip was in spring 2015 when Ellie worked with Nathan to separate Spinelli and Maxie so they could individually get back together with their real loves.
Wilson has had appearances in the movies Tenured and Brothered Up as well as popular primetime television shows CASTLE and THE NEWSROOM. She also wed the actor Adhir Kalyan in October 2016, and on March 23, 2021, Mira, the couple’s first child, was born.
Spinelli and Ellie shared a deep affection, and Ellie even regarded Georgie, his child with Maxie, as her own. Spinelli claimed in 2021 that Ellie had split up with him and moved out as a result of his ongoing association with the Corinthos family and their criminal operations, despite leading a pretty happy life off the canvas.
With her most recent trip, Ellie appears to be dropping by Port Charles to spend the holidays with Georgie. However, she quickly realizes that Spinelli has fallen back in love with Maxie. Will she agree and assist him in getting her back, or will she convince him that reconciling with the blonde is a terrible mistake?
