Though it’s been nearly four years since Tyler Christopher bid his daytime audience adieu, the ever-popular actor is celebrating a very special milestone.

That’s because he was born on November 11, 1972, in Joliet, Illinois, which means that this talented performer is turning 50 years old today! After two years at Ohio Wesleyan University, Christopher moved to Los Angeles hoping to pursue an acting career.
Despite the fact that his initial attempts to find an agent, jobs in movies or television, or even appearances on stage were unsuccessful, Christopher eventually found success in 1995 after a second trial period, obtaining the character of Nikolas Cassadine on the ABC daytime program General Hospital.
He first appeared on screen on July 15, 1996, and remained there until June of 1999, when he decided not to have his contract renewed. Christopher later had guest appearances as a star on several well-known primetime shows, such as The Pretender, Charmed, JAG, and Felicity.
After being absent for four years, Christopher replaced Stephen Martines as Nikolas on General Hospital. After landing a part on the primetime series The Lying Game, ABC fired Christopher in 2011, but a solution was subsequently negotiated that allowed him to perform on both programs.
But in 2016, after drawn-out negotiations with the brass, he once more left GH. Ironically, it would be this year when Christopher, who had previously received four Daytime Emmy nods, would take home a trophy in the Outstanding Lead Actor category.
Fourteen months later, he joined the cast of Days of our Lives and made his debut as Stefan O. DiMera on December 29, 2017. He continued to be seen on the soap until March 20, 2019. That same year, he would get another nomination for lead actor under his belt.
