We have some news for viewers who though they had seen the last of Elizabeth’s mother on General Hospital. According to Soap Opera Digest, Denise Crosby will be back in Port Charles when Carolyn visits in an effort to heal fences with her daughter. The actress gave a sneak peek at her daylight comeback and explained why, despite the likelihood that Liz will reject her, she will be asking for another opportunity.
Crosby said, “She understands things may go horribly wrong, but if she doesn’t take the shot, she can’t live with herself. She wants to establish a relationship with her daughter and make up for a mistake that is nearly impossible to undo.
Even though Carolyn believed she had acted honorably in keeping Liz’s involvement in pushing Finn’s wife Rieko down the stairs a secret after finding that she had an affair with her father Jeff, Carolyn now wants to make an effort to persuade Liz to see things from her perspective. Everyone is aware of Liz’s feelings, of course, but Crosby said, “I think she realizes the agony, the grief, and the remorse that her mother has.”
But Carolyn won’t solely communicate with Liz once she gets back… Carolyn is taken aback when Nikolas asks for her assistance with regards to Esme during a visit to Wyndemere, implying that it just might be the solution to mending the divide between her and Liz. He doesn’t go into great detail about his strategy, but by exploiting her daughter, he manages to “push it down her throat a little bit.” And it goes without saying that Carolyn might have made a tremendous mistake by putting her trust in Nikolas.
