GH tapped Adam Huss to step in as Nikolas Cassadine.
General Hospital once again tapped actor Adam Huss to sub for Marcus Coloma on General Hospital as Nikolas Cassadine after Coloma needed off for a few days. The actor spoke with Soap Hub about it.
Adam Huss Checks Into Wyndemere
Huss tells Soap Hub, “I’d just finished filming a rom-com and was available,” so when GH casting director Mark Teschner contacted the actor’s representatives to ask if he’d be available after Coloma requested some time off, Huss responded with a hearty “Hell, ya!” (The actor stated that he had COVID in an Instagram post.)
Huss exclaims, “Mark’s been so great. The actor received screenplays for Nikolas’ interactions with Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl), calculating Esme Cassadine (Maura West), Rebecca Herbst, and Nikolas’ estranged wife Ava Jerome Cassadine in front of him shortly after being contacted (Elizabeth Webber Baldwin).
It took four days and 65 pages! Huss exclaims, thanking his three co-stars and a friend for their assistance in helping him meet the task of learning so much language so quickly. “I am aware that I needed to be ‘off book’ in order to perform the material as well as possible. Joey Isabel, an incredible friend and coach, was ready to assist me with managing the lines over Zoom and FaceTime.

Huss continues, “Maura is really great. She is gifted, compassionate, and the consummate professional. In order for us to test the lines, Avery asked Mark to acquire her my phone number. I felt at ease because of her. Rebecca and I both ran lines. She has been a part of the program for 25 years and is extremely giving. I kept up with Liz’s relationships with Nikolas and Lucky (Spencer, Jonathan Jackson). I adore everyone of them ladies. They treated me with such kindness.
When Kimberlin Brown (Sheila Carter) was recognized for her 30-year tenure on The Bold and the Beautiful last month, Huss’ ears may have been burning. Sheila let loose lethal bees on Huss’s character Lance, who was allergic to bee stings, according to the program, which detailed all of Sheila’s malicious deeds! Huss giggles, “That does pop up on the Internet occasionally. Kimberlin gave me advice on how to memorize lines quickly and stow your script beneath pillows on set. Another excellent daytime actor I had the pleasure of working with is she.
Future scripted productions will feature Huss, who viewers interested in seeing more of can do so. Let it Kill You and Original True both feature him as a star or producer. “I also have Namaste Bitches, a show I’m in that just debuted [yesterday], and Love is in the Air, a rom-com I just shot that will be released next year. It debuted in 2014 but has since received more funding. I portray Dr. Sam, who might not be the best advisor to the main character. It’s a hilarious and enjoyable part.
Huss met Coloma, who was back at the studio, as he was wrapping up his visit to GH. Huss claims that whatever trepidation he may have had was completely unfounded: “I met Marcus on the last day that I shot.” He was the nicest man ever. At lunch and in the hallway, we ran into each other and chatted. There was a wonderful sense of camaraderie, mutual respect, and appreciation. It was really awesome.
