The author’s opinions on GH are his and his alone. They’re suitably scathing, fairly humorous, and normally bang on target.
When it comes to General Hospital, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days, we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the GH week that was.
General Hospital: The Critic’s POV
I have complaints, as usual. But first, a compliment. Those sequences between Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) and Mac (John J. York) and Felicia (Kristina Wagner) were chef’s kiss fantastic. Excellent writing. So good acting.
So why, oh why, did we not get to see Kevin’s personal Hell or Felicia’s cathartic-free kiss-off to Ryan? Show me rather than tell me.
I also have to disagree with Mac’s assertion that Cody is not our problem because he is not a member of our family. Does that genuinely fit the Mac character that we know and love?
Further GH Musings
- The narrative involving Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) goes on as usual.
- I’m a huge fan of Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn). HUGE. I adore her so much. I’ve always had a soft spot for characters who are both humorous and their own worst enemies, and that pretty much sums up Alexis. Having said that, I find her…storyline?…with Gregory (Gregory Harrison) annoying, so I can only imagine how you critics out there must feel.
Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), did you mention that Danny and Rocco are teenagers? [Cut to me figuring out the boys’ exact age in the present and finding out that they are truly, formally, preteens. Was this a classic instance of SORASing, or was it an even more classic instance of Chris and Dan/Dan and Chris not being aware of the details?]
I wish I could support the entire “Let’s Torment Victor (Charles Shaughnessy) By Emasculating Him” narrative, but I find it to be very unconvincing.
- Why does Trina (Tabyana Ali) always have to bear everything and be grateful for it? Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl), however, has been made very plain to be the money character, so of course she would need to be exiled from Spring Ridge in some way.
