The author’s opinions are his and his alone. They’re suitably scathing, fairly humorous, and normally bang on target.
When it comes to General Hospital, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days, we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the GH week that was.
General Hospital: A Critic’s Week In Review
I’m going to hope and pray that Chris and Dan/Dan and Chris are preparing to deliver a “gotcha ya!” moment and expose that Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) and Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) are working together in some capacity to harm Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy). Other than that, General Hospital has committed a number of sins against two of its most adored characters, all in the name of furthering a plot that true fans could do without.
Additionally, it stinks that the uninspired writing team decided to give Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) a condition from which she would never be able to recover. Why give up a character who is so compelling and alive? And to diagnose her and then write her out? Talk about a demeaning departure.
Further GH Musings
Kudos to Thiebaud and Kathleen Gati.
I guess Laura Wright and I have different ideas of what a “homewrecker” is because I remember what Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) did to Bobbie (Jacklyn Zeman) and Tony Jones (Brad Maule), and that was, in my opinion, textbook homewrecking.
Speaking of homewreckers and those close to them, mini-Carly Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) needs to promise not to ever again get in the faces of Nina Reeves or Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). I understand that she didn’t have a sexual relationship with Dex Heller (Evan Hofer), but the girl — and yes, she acts more like a girl than a woman most of the time — now has no room to judge.
How long does Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) believe she can hide her leukemia given the severe side effects of chemotherapy? Also, how badly will Carly feel upon learning that her efforts to thwart Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) efforts to track down Willow’s birth parents may have/did lead to the young woman’s demise on a scale from “Not At All” to “Well, I Was Totally Justified In Doing So Because Nina’s Trash”?
I understand that on soap operas, time is relative, but how did Sonny manage to go from clean-shaven to stubbled in the few minutes it took him and Drew to mosey over to the Metro Court from the boxing gym?
I’m a member of Team Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn). Who else is on Team Alexis Davis? With any luck, this will teach Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) to work better with others or, at the absolute least, to carry out her duties and actually solve some murders.
I mean, how is it that Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) could clock the disparity in two shots supposedly being fired into Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) but only one bullet casing being fired, but the PCPD couldn’t?
Olivia Falconeri Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) is trash. How any woman could proudly declare that she’d lie to her husband to protect a friend who knowingly committed a felony is beyond me.
