The author’s and his alone’s views on General Hospital are expressed here. They’re usually right on point, properly biting, and amusing.
Every fan has their own perspective about General Hospital, and Soap Hub is no different. We watched everything—the good, the ugly, and everything in between—for five days, and now we’re here to give you a helpful recap and a lighthearted analysis of the GH week that was.
General Hospital: The Critic Ponders
Is it just me, or are Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Hussdemise )’s from this world being hinted to in anvil-size ways by the General Hospital writers?
When Curtis (Donnell Turner) made it obvious that he could never forgive someone for keeping a parent away from their child in the manner that Carly (Laura Wright) did, I’m certain that I heard a thud. I suggest that Portia (Brook Kerr) fasten her seatbelt.
Is it incorrect for me to believe that antagonist Ava (Maura West), mercenary Mason (Nathanyael Grey), and an utterly irate Austin (Roger Howarth) are on a collision course with fate?
Further GH Musings
- A reprise of Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) and Finn (Michael Easton)? Please, please say it’s not true!
- At what point does Michael (Chad Duell) decide to stop trying to get revenge on Sonny (Maurice Benard)? How much longer will Chris and Dan/Dan and Chris expose us to this poorly thought-out, undeveloped plot that leads nowhere?
- Normally, I find myself applauding General Hospital’s set designers and special effects artists, but during Willow’s brief excursion into the afterlife, it appeared as though the teams were given two dollars and were given back one and fifty cents.
- I’m known for not being very taken with Parry Shen’s (Brad Cooper) early outpouring of sorrow for the unfortunate Britt who had been killed, but I’ll be damned if I wasn’t affected by his lonely ice cream toast to Brad’s closest friend.
Is there ANYTHING that is NOT about Josslyn (Eden McCoy)? Or, at the very least, is there anything that Josslyn cannot make about herself? Since I evidently missed the message, I sincerely ask since it appears that both the birth of baby Corinthos and the funeral ceremony for Britt Westbourne are all about her.
- Spencer Cassadine actor Nicolas Alexander Chavez is out there doing work that deserves an Emmy!
- Oh! Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn are there (Amanda Setton). I absolutely missed the fact that they were still a part of this artwork. However, I believe the authors felt the same way.
- It’s…interesting how those images are arranged on the “wall of remembering,” or whatever the hospital is calling it these days. Where in the world are people like Audrey, who is sandwiched between Jessie and Lucille on the bottom rung, and Epiphany going to fit in?
