The author’s and his alone’s views on General Hospital are expressed here. They’re usually right on point, properly biting, and amusing.
Every fan has their own perspective about General Hospital, and Soap Hub is no different. We watched everything—the good, the ugly, and everything in between—for five days, and now we’re here to give you a helpful recap and a lighthearted analysis of the GH week that was.
General Hospital: The Critic Is Tickled…For All The Wrong Reasons
As Eden McCoy (Josslyn Jacks) and William Lipton (Cameron Webber) were providing powerful performances deserving of Daytime Emmys, McCoy said something that truly, LITERALLY made me laugh out loud. The one, you know. The one that begins, “Long before [I slept with Dex] I had already determined that we were done… Simply put, I hadn’t had the time to let you know.
Talk about being removed from the action. I started yelling and eventually had to interrupt the show because I couldn’t believe such an absurd statement had been made. This is the reason I keep harping on Josslyn. I routinely criticise General Hospital and the folks who create it for the same reason. How did that conversational passage get through?
Additionally, I’m still trying to figure out what exactly Josslyn and the writers were trying to convey when she cautioned, stoned-faced, that she would “had to inform Dex before this gets back to Sonny” if she and Cameron couldn’t come to some sort of settlement.
Was it implied that if Cameron didn’t swear to remain quiet, he may get beat up by Josslyn’s new boyfriend or, worse still, killed? Or am I interpreting what was stated incorrectly? Was anything completely innocent?
Further GH Musings
Does this mean that we’re finally ready for some kind of resolution to this meandering, endless storyline now that Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) are back in Port Charles and working together with characters like Robert (Tristan Rogers), Laura (Genie Francis), and Felicia (Kristina Wager) against big bad Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy)?
- So why are we only now learning that Willow’s (Katelyn MacMullen) stem cells taken from her umbilical cord might be the remedy for what ails her? Why wasn’t that brought up right once the first potential bone marrow donor failed to materialise? You know, before Willow’s pregnancy became public knowledge and everything went to hell.
Oh, you’re correct! Because they had to cram in the big “Nina Is Willow’s Mommy” revelation that had been months, months, and months in the making, it couldn’t have been brought up any sooner. Screw any logical reasoning. We must increase the drama.
- You know, it’s ironic — actually, it’s not — that now that Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) has been charged with the crime AND the drugging/attempted murder of Oz, she’s only going to receive a warning because…amnesia? When Trina (Tabyana Ali) was on trial for distributing the tape of Cameron and Josslyn having sex, the A.D.A. wanted to throw the book at her Yes, the amnesia is to blame for her pass. Psst, that’s not it.
